All our first aid courses are delivered by qualified, experienced instructors who are registered with the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council in Ireland.
We run regular public courses at convenient locations around the country as well as private courses for groups. Some of our first aid courses can now be completed online either through live webinar or through eLearning.

Under the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act (2005) and the Fire Aid Regulations (2007), a risk assessment must be carried out in all places of work to assess a company’s first aid requirements. The only first aid course recognized by the Health & Safety Authority (HSA) is the First Aid Responder Course certified by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council. A risk assessment will show how many First Aider Responders (FARs) are required in a company to adequately cover their first aid needs. So a number of staff must be trained as FAR’s and others may be trained in basic first aid, or for example, in Childcare, other members of staff require Paediatric First Aid training.

The risk assessment will take into account the size of the company, number of staff, shifts being worked by staff, location and access to a medical facility and any special risks or hazards, etc.

The new FAR course is a course that superseded the older Occupational First Aid QQI Level 5 Course, i.e., it is the new standard for workplace first aid. It is the only course recognised by the Health & Safety Authority (HSA) and by government bodies such as Tusla, HSE, etc.

It depends on which course you completed previously. For example, if you have already completed a three-day First Aid Responder (FAR) course and it is still in date then you can complete a two day FAR Refresher to recertify for a further two years. On the other hand, if you completed a one day Basic First Aid course or a Paediatric First Aid course previously then you can just attend another one-day course to re-certify for a further two years.

Yes, we deliver a short course for parents, grandparents, childminders, babysitters etc. which covers the basics of paediatric common medical issues as well as life threatening emergencies. If you have a group of family or friends who are interested in this training, contact us for a quotation for a group.

The certification you achieve will depend on the course you have completed. For example, if you have completed a basic one-day course you will receive an Advanta Safety Basic First Aid training certificate. On the other hand, if you have completed a three-day First Aid Responder (FAR) Course you will receive a PHECC (Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council) certificate. All first aid certificates are valid for two years.
